Designed to engage, grow and recruit the rising generation of STEM talent needed for future Naval Aviation and provides NAWCAD mentors an avenue to broaden community STEM engagement by connecting them with enthusiastic, talented students. Students develop critical thinking skills in applied science and engineering, while learning more about NAWCAD with the potential for future internships and employment.
AirTalent High School Innovation Projects will promote Naval STEM through research and application of ten (10) team innovation projects with the help of 10 mentors for the 2022-2023 school year. These ten groups will work with NAWCAD engineers and scientists to develop, propose, and implement a science or engineering project.
Students will be provided with a $500 material budget.

Opportunity to win $200 cash prize by just watching a Naval STEM video and writing an essay! Naval Horizons is a student essay contest introducing students to cutting-edge STEM topics impacting the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps through an engaging video series. The STEM topics in the video series include environmental science, aerospace optometry, autonomy, oceanography and more! Students are invited to watch the videos to learn about Naval STEM challenges and the scientists and engineers tackling them. Then students are tasked to write an essay explaining how the research and the STEM professional presented in the video inspired them and to share their thoughts on the future of the STEM topic.
Up to 5,000 winners will be selected and receive a $200 cash prize! In addition, exceptional essays will be designated Naval Horizons Highest Honors and highlighted on the Naval Horizons website.

An all day, immersive STEM day targeted at middle school girls to inspire, challenge and help them grow in their confidence in STEM. The students will participate in three STEM workshops and meet amazing Wonder Woman in STEM careers. The event will be May 20th, 2023. Be on the lookout for registration to open in April!!
